Well guys no better way to get back into blogging than with a challenge right?
We are going through a budget revision here in the LLG house and I’m trying to get back on track with my healthy eating habits. These two things together make the perfect time to have an “Eat at Home Challenge.” So I’m going to start myself this week but give you all a week to get ready, you know grocery shop, plan meals such like that. On Friday I’ll post up some simple quick and heathy meal ideas to get you started. Then next Tuesday we start. It will be a week by week challenge with a goal of going at least two weeks at a time. But every little bit helps health-wise and budget-wise.
Here are the guidelines:
- Make a plan- you don’t have to lay out every meal everyday but have a plan for at least 3 so you know you have those ingredients on hand.
- Its ok to eat out if you MUST (it happens) or a date night is in order but make sure its for real. Either limit how often (I suggest once per week) or set a budget and then stick to it. If you can pack a meal and take it with you instead of eating out.
- Make sure what your eating at home is balanced, you don’t have to worry to much but don’t only eat pasta, eat lest pasta and add a veggie ( careful not another starch) or make sure their are a few food groups on your plate.
- Eat at a table, not in front of the TV (or laptop ) this will help make sure you don’t over eat.
