Today my parents have been married for 32 years!
Arn’t they cute?
These days 32 years is nothing to sneeze at, and their 32 years haven’t been perfect to say the least. However through it all with their faith they have persevered and I’ve seen their marriage become stronger.
I respect and admire the relationship they have and I can’t wait to celebrate 32 years with Mac!
My parents have taught me many things about marriage and although I know marriages don’t always work out even with these lessons, I wanted to share them anyway:
- Make God a key part of your marriage.
- Don’t just talk, listen.
- Preserver
- Mentoring and counseling can help any marriage not just the ones ‘in trouble.’
- Make time to be really together, phone/tv off no distractions.
- Take care of yourself, not everything is about the other person if you don’t take care of yourself you won’t have anything to put in to the relationship.
There are many more things that I”ve learned from them over the years, but these are the major ones that really ‘stuck’ if you know what I mean 😉
Love you Mom and Dad!
Aw happy anniversary to them!!
