Two fun things first, Come back next week for a great give away 🙂 also I have 2 great coupon codes for you at the end of the post so keep an eye out.
So Its been in the back of my mind ever since the 7k I ran a few weeks ago. I want to run one more race before this baby comes. However I’m 2 weeks away from the 3rd Trimester and just plain unsure how I’ll feel in the next few months. I don’t want to commit to a specific weekend or distance because of this so what to do?
A virtual run of course! One of my fellow Sweat Pink Ambassadors is doing a virtual run where you can choose the date and distance you want to run! Plus you get a medal and a printable bib for race day!
Now I’m not saying you have to do this virtual run, however it is a good one and I’ll tell you why below. But I am saying that virtual runs are a great way to get in a race when you have a busy calendar, or you need to change up your training routine for a big race coming up.If your stuck in a running/training rut its a great way to push yourself out of it.
This run is a fund-raiser for Girls on the Run 100 % of the proceeds (after cost of medals, shipping and the registration website) go to the foundation and I’m pretty happy with that. Just take a look at their Mission/Vision:
Mission
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Vision
We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

Empowerment, Responsibility, Intentionality, Diversity, Connectedness, Joy, Optimism, Gratitude, Nurturing, Healthy, Open-hearted, Compassion
So I’m signing up for this one, Run Like a Girl – Be Strong. Anyone else going to join me on a virtual run soon?

I really like Girls on the Run! I was thinking about looking more into volunteering for them when I’m done with school. I think they have a local Twin Cities one
I think I will join this race. I’ve been itching to work out since the baby arrived but because I injured my hips during a run 3 weeks after birth, I’ve been told to take it easy. I might walk the 5k since my hip joints still get sore from excess activity…I’ll just wear the baby on my walk 🙂
