2012 Mileage…I could not have dreamed this.

I got this pretty cool e-mail this week, it was my yearly summery from Daily Mile. I clicked a link and gasped…

I started the year just hoping to complete a few 5ks and keep running. Little did I know what I was starting with that 5k on January 1st…

Running has become many things for me, its a stress reliever, a way to get outside, and a challenge. I find myself wanting to better my time, go a little further and yet don’t really feel the pressure to ‘be the best’ or to win the race.

I’ll admit I’m struggling a little watching my mileage plummet this year but I know its for a great reason and most of the time I’m so tired that there is nothing I can do about it anyway.

So here is to another year of running. I have one last scheduled race in March and then who knows what the future holds. If I lose my mind completly it might involve a race in September if I keep my whits about me probably in October.

  1. Congrats! That is fantastic!! I have told myself year after year that i would start running, I even look uo those nifty little programs that help you start off slow and work your way to a 5k…I have never made it past the first run. Someday I hope I will. I completely admire your motivation and tenacity. Wishing you a fabulous running year ahead!!

  2. Congratulations on the achievement! That chart is really amazing to look at and anyone can tell that running became something that you really loved doing and not just something you do because you needed to work out. Your mileage this year might not be as high as last but I’m sure you’ll figure out a way to work your new life around it šŸ™‚
