Ok so this week I’m going to walk through my Aspirations for 2013 in each of the major areas I talk about on the blog:
So today we are talking about health and fitness. My over arching theme for 2013 is going to be better, when I write just the word it sounds intense and well hard. However once I explain how I intend to be ‘better’ I think it will make sense.
So for obvious reasons my health and fitness goals have changed this year. I was originally try to ‘one up’ all of my distances except my half marathons…those I was just going to try and better my time. Now my goals have changed I just want to be better, better than what? My brain, So many times I just want to talk a nap when really my body doesn’t need rest it needs waken up after sitting at my job all day. I want to better gage tired from lazy, and start exercising when I just need to wake up and rest when I’m tired.
I also want to be ‘better than average’ with my exercising. According to Fit Sugar a Gallup poll around May of last year showed that most people averaged 90 minutes of exercise per week. They did this in 3-30 min sessions. Now in the past a 30 min workout or run for me was a short one. I know now however that a 30 min workout some days might be my maximum. So my goal is to average 90 min or more each week in focused movement. Why not exercise specifically? I also know that some weeks I might not have the time or energy to, but there are other things that take energy that need to be done. Walk the dog, clean the house that sort of thing. I just want to be off my butt for at least 90 min a week. I’ll be keeping track of it all on my Daily Mile account.
I want to encourage you to do better this year! I hope to have giveaways and ideas to help you have a better fitness year than you did in 2012!!!
Heath wise I simply want to make better choices. When presented with the option of foods I want to pick the best food available for my body. It might not always be the ideal food, but I want the best of what is available to me. For other ‘health products’ vitamins, oils, soaps cleaners and such I want to be selective in what I use so that I can afford to use better products and get the most out of them.
So there you have it my 4 heath and fitness goals for 2013!
