Sorry for the silence last week, my trip took more out of me that I could have imagined. But I’m back now!
So what did I learn this week, its actually pretty easy to eat healthy on the road, even if you can’t stop by a grocery store. Plus if your like me its even easier on an expense account because you don’t feel bad about picking more expensive food…maybe that is just my problem 😉 So here are a few choice I made while traveling that I was pretty proud of.
For dinner on my way out I had soup and salad, I picked the broth based soup not the cream based option and a salad with vinegar based dressing to keep that light too. I try to avoid ‘light’ dressings because of other additives that they mix in to make them ‘light’ I just pick the healthier of the full fat options.
I was also pretty happy with my breakfast choices, the first morning I went to the hotel provided buffet (a real one not carb loaded continental breakfast.) I choose fruit and eggs, some plain yogurt and a 1/2 bagel with cream cheese (splurge.)
I was also excited to find this little baby in the Denver Airport (I think it was Denver…) It ran on a sensor, provided filtered water and had a light to let you know if the filter needed changed so you could find a different one. Plus just for fun it counted how many plastic water bottles it helped eliminate, it was fun to see that number go up! Just remember to bring your water bottle through security EMPTY.
