Wow its been a while since I’ve participated in You Capture, but once I saw the theme was Cold and I went to this crazy event it was easy to jump back in.
So a friend of mine (J) and I went to downtown St. Paul this weekend to check out the Red Bull Crashed Ice event. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into but it was crazy! We went early to scout the area and it was amazing! The track had crazy sharp turns on an incline, hills, jumps and all with 3 other skaters trying to take you out while you complete it in the fastest time possible. The event was held on the St Paul Cathedrals grounds which made for some great background shots.
So after scouting it out we walked further downtown to eat, our first choice had a line out the door so we went to a fun little pizza and burger joint taht was so small I couldn’t get a picture of it (had my 70-200 lens on.)
Once we got back to the event there were a few more people wondering around…like 70,000!!
Then it all began, we had a pretty limited view and it was crazy pushy so we stayed for about 5 rounds and then made our way back to the car. I can’t wait to watch it on tv this weekend!

Going with you makes me want to get back into my Photography. I am debating between restarting Project 365 or doing something similar. What that would be I don’t know though…decisions, decisions…
