I sent off my gift for the Handmade Gift Exchange by Craftaholics Anonymous the other day you want to see it?
Well it started out with a letter from my partner and the discovery that she was a mom of 2 and liked orange and pink….humm. Well I had to spread a little green love and you know my infatuation with vinyl so that was that. A new twist to the “I’m not a plastic bag.”
Here is version 1
Version 2 started out with a a vision of sewing on a cool 2 inch stripe, then changed when I couldn’t find the right pink and orange combination. So I moved on to paint which cause another problem, I only had baby pink and mauve (that one on the far right.) So I mixed Mauve and red together and came up with a pretty cool pink!
Next I taped off 4 stripes on the back in different widths and painted them in with a stencil brush. Dabbing vs paint strokes gets you a MUCH cleaner line.
I let that dry painted 2 stripes on the front and then added the vinyl see:
So what do you think? I hope she likes it!
The gift exchange is done for this season but she normally runs one twice a year so keep and eye out on her web page for updates.
How do I not know about this!!! Ahhhh … you should have told me!! 🙂 The bag looks great!
Super cute! (P.S. I took down my blog…not sure if I am going to start it up again. Barely anyone read it anyway).
Very Cute! 🙂 I’m sure your partner will love it! Merry Christmas!
You are so awesome! I do not think I’ve read something like that before. So wonderful to find another person with some original thoughts on this subject matter. Seriously.. thank you for starting this up. This website is one thing that’s
needed on the internet, someone with a bit of
originality!
