Be Green, Reuse – Box edition

Here are some really easy ways to be green and they are cheap too! Just use things you already have around the house!

Boxes

~I had this box laying around from a gift I received for my birthday. I jazzed it up with some paper and jewels and not its a great holder for my Sizzix Texture Boutique that I got from my husband for my birthday!

~You can use small boxes as drawer organizers just cut off the bottom few inches (depending on the depth of your drawer) and arrange them in the drawer,Ā  you can use the top as one too!Ā  Then just recycle the rest!

~Hold on to them and re-use them for shipping.

~Before recycling let you kids turn bigger appliance boxes into their own fort.

~Make a play mat for your kids barbies or cars. Draw a town and roads on it and let them have a blast!

~Use is as a weed barrier under your mulch or rocks it will eventually deteriorate into the soil.

~Check with a teacher to see if they want/need them.

I just found this Greenie blog hop last week and am excited to participate today. I know it says Green Mom but in the instructions it specifcly says you don’t have to be a mom so yea!

  1. Thanks for the follow! I’m following you via gfc now too! I think being a sign language interpreter would be the most awesome job ever! That’s what I wanted to be when I “grew up”. šŸ™‚

  2. You’ve got a great blog here, and I love your creativity. Yes, we need to renew, reuse, and recycle. I can’t wait to come back for more green tips. I’m a new follower from the Green Mom Blog Hop.

P.S. I never thought about using boxes as a weed barrier–great idea.

  3. Great post. I love to find new uses for things myself……you, though, are very crafty and a bit more creative then I am. šŸ™‚
