“In it for the long haul”

Too many people enter into marriage thinking ‘well if it doesn’t work out we can just split up.” Yikes!

I can’t imagine putting all of my time effort and heart in to a relationship if I’m not in it for the long haul. When I was dating, I wouldn’t date someone unless I thought they were marriage material. That doesn’t mean I thought I was going to marry everyone I dated, it means I didn’t want to waste my time unless the person had potential. That might have something to do with the fact that I didn’t start dating until I was 17.

Please, Please don’t veiw marriage as short term fun, it is long term work but its so worth it!

  1. I also waited until my late teens to start dating, for the same reason. I thought it was just me! Then I didn’t marry until I was 30, when I knew it was really right. Wouldn’t change a thing about it.

  2. It’s no wonder more people don’t make it! PLAN on it being hard and making it through it! That’s the only way you can survive!

  3. I totally agree! I can never understand how some people are into casual dating and have a long list of previous relationships. How can they treat relationships so lightly? I also agree with what you said about marriage and divorce. If people took marriage more seriously, we’d have less broken up families today. People divorce so easily that it’s pretty depressing.
